Garden furniture guarantee
Every Gardenesque furniture piece is covered against manufacturing defects, with extended protection on the structural frame — where it matters most.
Rather than a single blanket promise, our guarantees are shaped by the materials themselves. Metal, hardwood and woven elements each behave differently outdoors, and our 2, 3 and 5 year approach reflects that.
We hope you’ll never need to use your guarantee, but should anything not be as it should, simply contact us and we’ll guide you through the next steps.
Terms & Conditions
Our structural guarantee covers manufacturing defects in the core construction of each piece — the elements that give it strength, stability and support.
This includes faults such as weld failure, fracture of load-bearing timber, or structural distortion occurring under normal domestic use and where assembly and maintenance has been carried out in accordance with the user manual guidance provided.
It does not cover natural wear, misuse, lack of maintenance and environmental exposure.
We recommend checking your furniture periodically, and letting us know as soon as anything doesn’t feel as it should, so we can help.
Our approach is always to resolve issues thoughtfully, keeping pieces in use wherever possible. Where a manufacturing fault is identified, we will assess the item and, depending on the nature of the issue:
- Repair the product
- Replace a component
- Offer a suitable replacement or alternative
In some cases, we may ask for the item, or part of it, to be returned to us for inspection or repair. We’ll guide you through this process where needed. The cost of return will be the customer's responsibility.
Where a repair or like-for-like replacement is not possible, we may offer a resolution that reflects the age, use and condition of the item.
Wear and Tear / Natural Characteristics
- Surface scratches, chips, fading or natural weathering of wood and finishes
- Hairline cracks, movement in grain or other age-related characteristics in timber
- Fabric fading, pilling, zips or deterioration from normal use
- Weather-resistant finishes losing their waterproofing properties over time or after being cleaned using detergents.
- Damage to glass and ceramic tabletops. Any damage must be reported within 7 days of receipt to customer care.
- Rattan is a naturally flexible material, designed to respond to its environment. In warmer weather, you may notice a slight softening or sagging — this is normal and will typically return to its original shape as temperatures cool.
- As with all outdoor materials, care should be taken with exposure to extreme heat. Direct contact with heat sources or intensified sunlight (such as reflections through glass) can cause damage to the material. Where this occurs as a result of environmental conditions, it would not be covered under our guarantee.
- Structural damage resulting from neglect, improper care, or environmental factors beyond normal outdoor use is not covered
- Surface corrosion, oxidation or rusting of metal components resulting from environmental exposure, including moisture, salt air, or atmospheric conditions over time
Damage Due to Misuse or Neglect
- Damage from incorrect assembly, misuse or accidents
- Furniture that has been stored in damp, unventilated conditions or left uncovered in prolonged rain, frost or damp conditions
- Mould or mildew
- Use of pressure washers, bleach or abrasive cleaners
- Movement or deterioration caused by lack of basic maintenance (e.g. not re-oiling wood regularly) as outlined in the care guide
Commercial Use
- Furniture used in business premises, hospitality venues, holiday lets or any commercial environment.
Third Party Alterations or Repairs
- Modifications, repairs or adjustments carried out by anyone other than Gardenesque or our authorised partners
Ex-display or sample furniture
- Items purchased as samples or ex-display furniture or bought sold-as-seen are not covered by the extended guarantee.
This guarantee applies from the date of delivery or collection and is valid for the original purchaser only. It is not transferable.
To assess any claim, we may request photographs or videos and ask for details on how the product has been used, handled, and maintained. This allows us to determine whether the issue relates to a manufacturing fault.
The guarantee applies to orders delivered within mainland UK.
Where a fault is identified, our approach is to resolve it in the most appropriate and proportionate way. This may include repairing the product, replacing a component, offering a suitable alternative, or providing a partial refund where a like-for-like resolution is not possible.
Where a like-for-like resolution is not possible, any resolution offered will reflect the age, use, and condition of the product at the time of the claim.
Complimentary or promotional items included with an order are not covered under this guarantee.
All-Weather Wicker Garden Furniture
Arlington — 5 Year Structural Guarantee
Our Arlington collection is built around a solid hardwood frame with handwoven all-weather wicker, designed for long-term outdoor use. The 5-year guarantee covers the structural integrity of the frame and any faults we identify as manufacturing defects.
The wicker is engineered for durability and will not rot or fray under normal conditions. As a flexible material, it may soften slightly in warmer temperatures and return to shape as it cools — this is a natural characteristic and not a fault.
Damage caused by external factors is not covered. This includes melting or distortion from direct heat sources or intensified sunlight (such as reflections through glass), as well as cuts, snags, or impact damage.
Cushions must be dried thoroughly and stored correctly when not in use. Staining is not covered, and fabric elements are not included within the guarantee.

Wooden Garden Furniture
Repton — 2 Year Structural Guarantee
Our Repton collection is crafted from eucalyptus, selected for its durability and suitability for outdoor use. The 2-year guarantee covers the structural frame against manufacturing defects.
Wood is a natural material and will respond to its environment. Changes in colour, small cracks, and movement may occur as the timber expands and contracts through the seasons. These are expected characteristics and do not affect structural integrity, and are therefore not covered.
Structural damage resulting from neglect, improper care, or environmental factors beyond normal outdoor use is not covered.
Stanley — 2 Year Structural Guarantee
The Stanley collection combines a solid acacia frame with handwoven all-weather wicker. The 2-year guarantee covers the structural frame and manufacturing defects that affect its performance.
As with all wicker, slight softening in warm weather is expected and will return as temperatures cool. This does not affect the integrity of the furniture.
External damage — including heat distortion, cuts, or wear from misuse — is not covered. Cushions must be dried thoroughly and stored correctly when not in use. Staining is not covered, and fabric elements are not included within the guarantee.

To ensure your guarantee remains valid and your furniture performs well for years to come, we recommend the following:
- Cushions should be stored indoors when not in use
- Covers should be used during prolonged periods of bad weather or throughout winter
- Wooden components (e.g. acacia, eucalyptus) should be cleaned with warm water and re-oiled regularly to maintain appearance and weather resistance
- Cover wooden components during spells of wet and cold weather, and store in a garden shed or garage during periods of bad weather or when not in use
- Avoid placing hot items directly on surfaces and clean spills promptly to reduce staining

We may ask for additional details or, in some cases, request the return of the item for inspection. If a fault is confirmed, we will offer a suitable remedy — either a repair, replacement, or partial/full refund depending on the nature of the issue and the availability of stock.
Please note: Any claim must be raised within the guarantee period. Replacements or repairs do not extend the original guarantee term.
