Designed for year-round outdoor use, the Florence Large Terracotta Pot requires minimal maintenance to preserve its natural beauty. To protect its finish, we recommend using pot feet to improve drainage and prevent moisture retention. In harsh winter frosts, wrapping the pot in horticultural fleece or bubble wrap helps insulate both the planter and the plant inside. Before planting, a layer of gravel or broken terracotta at the base ensures optimal drainage, preventing waterlogging and supporting healthy root growth. As terracotta is naturally porous, avoid placing the pot directly on bare soil to prevent excess moisture absorption over time.
